Madreal was the artist that I was given to research on. Taking inspiration from Derrick Hodgson's work, I then created my own piece of art based on his style. His style is flat linear art with splotches of paint in the background and foreground.

For this assignment I first had wrote down everything that I wanted in my art and then quickly drew a rough sketch- not knowing that I wouldn't be able to replicate it as well as I had done in my rough draft. I gave up and used my initial rough sketch and scanned and put it in Illustrator(- not being successful with PhotoShop and Corel Painter Essentials). Using my tablet I then traced my sketch and changed a few details from my original plan.

I had created creatures just like Hodgson did in a flat linear line art style. Adding light colors and then using those same colors in the splotches of ink. I used scribbles for the tree and flowers and put in my own idea of giving the creatures a bit of a wash and hanging them to dry.
